Israel Relief Fund Bridges for Smiles

    Bridges for Smiles is a non-profit organization that brings hope to those who are hurting and needy, one smile at a time. The Lord gave the vision of this ministry to Drs. Stan and Audrey Crawford of Grove, Oklahoma. As a couple they now use their knowledge and skills as dentists as a bridge for building relationships for Christ. Drs. Stan and Audrey have been involved with local and foreign missions for a number of years; they have reached out to their community and the world with the blessing of dentistry. Bridges for Smiles was birthed out of a desire to use their gifts, talents, and training for the Kingdom.
     Drs. Stan and Audrey’s initial trip was an outreach to Sderot, Israel in the fall of 2005. Sderot is a small town of 40,000 citizens which borders the Gaza Strip in southern Israel. Sderot has been plagued by Kassam rockets launched by Palestinian militants. The rockets not only kill and maim the innocent but they also create fear and terror in the minds and hearts of the citizens of Sderot. The children are especially affected. When asked what they needed most, their simple reply was,“hope”. Bridges for Smiles was able to be a vessel of hope and a beacon of light as they treated eighty-five patients in four days. They plan to return to Sderot on a regular basis to continue to minister with dentistry and love. Bridges for Smiles hopes to continue be a blessing to Israel as well as other countries of the world as the Lord so orders their steps and the work of their hands.
     It is the Crawford’s prayer that dentists and others who feel called by God to this work would join Bridges for Smiles in their efforts.
